Joint Commission Public Information Notice

The following information is an Accreditation Participation Requirement for compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC).

In our continuous efforts to maintain a high standard of quality and patient safety in all of the care and treatment services at Windber Medical Center (WMC), we are offering these suggestions to our patients and families.

If you have any concerns about patient care and safety at WMC, please contact a member of management.  You may do this by speaking with one of your healthcare providers, or by calling the Medical Center’s main telephone number.  You will be directed to someone in management who can assist you.  Windber Medical Center has a Patient Safety Officer with whom you may request to speak.

You may also report your concerns via the Patient Satisfaction Survey that is sent to all of our patients, post-discharge.  This can be completely anonymous if you choose.  WMC has a grievance policy that clearly outlines the process for receiving, investigating and resolving any patient complaints so you can be assured that it will be addressed in a timely manner.

Additionally, if your concerns are not resolved at this level, we encourage you to contact The Joint Commission.
